» A1_Viking - Hi Wendy!

Hi Wendy! Sounds like you enjoyed your UK visit (apart from your sick relative, I mean!) It's amazing how we get an idea about something in our heads, then when we see it, it's not quite what we expected! It didn't spoil your enjoyment though, and that's the main thing!

G'day, Donna!!! Always great to see you here! I'm currently checking the editing of my 'proofed' Tudor novel, before sending it back to the publisher. Re-reading it made me remember our visit in '94 to Hever Castle. Such an absolute jewel of a place! I'm hoping one of these days I can return, and explore some more!

Will see you soon at your topic!
Take care!
Wendy

Hey, congratulations about your novel! That's excellent! An Aussie publisher? when is it due for release?
I used to fantasize about winning lotto and buying a castle... of course, it would have to be built here in Oz - can't live in cold, damp weather!

Hi Donna! Thank you so much for the congratulations! No- it's not an Australian publisher, but Bookmice.com. an e-publisher in America.<img src="http://www.suite101.com/files/topics/682..."> But most of their books are available as a trade paperback, so I'm very hopeful mine will be too. I believe- if I get the novel back to them soon- it won't take them long to publish it. Bookmice's Editor-in-Chief called the novel WONDERFUL! Yes, in capitals! But that doesn't stop me fussing over it! Dear lord- once it's back to them, that's it! I can't call it back! My first novel baby will be out in the world...let's hope it's a survivor!

Take care! Wendy

P.S. If I had lots of money, I'd want a castle too! And I would design it just like Hever Castle!

» dlstang - What a wonderful description!

About fifteen years ago, my sister and her husband lived in England for a couple of years, and I got to visit them after I graduated from high school.

Knowing my interest in Anne Boleyn, they arranged for me to go to Hever to tour. I spent a whole day there. It is truly a magical place. Not only did I get a tremendous sense of Tudor history, I almost felt as if I were only a breath away from running into Anne herself.

Your article brought back some wonderful memories. Thanks so much!

Hi Debbie!
I'm so glad the article brought back memories. I loved every moment of our time there, and you're so right- you can't get away the knowledge that Hever Castle was a family 'home' of Anne Boleyn's family. But then that's the reason why we went there, isn't it?
All the best!
And I'll be visiting your topic soon!
Cheers!

Hi Wendy,
Great article. I have yet to explore England but we did a similar trip when the children were young. We packed up an old pickup camper and spent three months touring the Australian outback. It was the best thing we ever did. Thanks for bringing back so many great memories
All the best
Glenice

» AnneWatkins - Great article!

I loved the pictures, too. But now I'm more curious than ever about the castle's interior. Maybe a future article with lots of details about what it's like inside a castle? *hint hint* (I'm just too nosy for my own good. LOL!) Thank you very much for this informative, interesting article. I certainly enjoyed it!
