» nabz33 - out of control 13 year old

My son is about to turn 13 in a month and he is getting to be more than myself or his father can handle. He has started hitting me and really beats on his two younger brothers. He doesn't do drugs or get into much trouble outside of our home, but I'm afraid that's where it's headed. He is very destuctive and has become very violent in the past year.He treatens that he is going to kill all of us while we're sleeping, and has pulled knives on us.He's put holes in the walls all over our home, and destroys everything.I've tried everything that I could think of.I've called my local dept of social services, police and juvenile det. {they were no help at all}.They tell me that if he's not getting into trouble at school, there's nothing they can do.{thanks for nothing}I have tried looking online for boot camps and that sort of thing but we don't have alot of money and I live in nc and it seems all of the camps that I found are states away and cost to much.I don't know what else to do,my son lies so much and says that if we try to send him anywhere he'll tell them that we abuse him.We have two other children that we don't want to risk getting taken away from us because of my sons lies.I am at my wits end. We don't have any problems out of our other two children at all.If ANYONE can offer any advice at all please, please reply.Thank you!

You need to keep searching.Does your state have the "Baker Act"?If your child is out of control you can have the court order him to a psych hospital for an evaluation. If he is violent, call police.Make sure you have records of every incident. You have about a 1-1/2 yr. window before your son discovers drugs and starts "self- medicating".Trust me, you haven't seen anything yet.I wish I had more advice.
