» biogardener - night-scented flowers I like best the night-scented flowers which bloom in the daytime as well but are fragrant only in the dark. They are common in gardens in Germany, and some of them have been introduced in North America. I have one kind. They have purple flowers, are biennial, and selfseed. I have forgotten the name. They bloom early in the season, though, certainly not around Hallowe'en. We usually get our first snow by Hallowe'en in Winnipeg, but this year we are ahead of schedule. We have had a foot of heavy wet white stuff already and are expecting more tomorrow. My cat Dusty has written an article for children on what our Hallowe'en garden looks like: "Hallowe'en Garden for Kids and Critters" -- posted by biogardener
