» biogardener - night-scented flowers I like best the night-scented flowers which bloom in the daytime as well but are fragrant only in the dark. They are common in gardens in Germany, and some of them have been introduced in North America. I have one kind. They have purple flowers, are biennial, and selfseed. I have forgotten the name. They bloom early in the season, though, certainly not around Hallowe'en. We usually get our first snow by Hallowe'en in Winnipeg, but this year we are ahead of schedule. We have had a foot of heavy wet white stuff already and are expecting more tomorrow. My cat Dusty has written an article for children on what our Hallowe'en garden looks like: "Hallowe'en Garden for Kids and Critters" -- posted by biogardener

Patricia, The search engine Google will show you just about the best collection of pictures on the Internet. Just access Google; select images; type in the name of the plant you'd like to see. For instance...typing in Babiana (Baboon-Root) will and then hitting enter on your computer will yield many beautiful pictures of this plant. HTH! (Hope This Helps!) -- posted by Georgene A. Bramlage » biogardener - Links I put together a list of good links mainly for herbs on this page. I always start on that page when I am looking for information or pictures on plants. Some of you might find it useful. I created that page a number of years ago, but I have tried to keep it current.-- posted by biogardener » sheriann - Re: Seeds and pictures In response to message posted by Patricia:Google is the search engine I use for images as well. Sorry to be so slow in responding. I have had pneumonia for almost a month. Night bloomers are my most favorite plants. I have numerous ones including bulbs, angel trumpets, orchids, stocks and many others. You may notice that scented flowers, even those that are scented in the daytime, become more fragrant as night falls. Sheri -- posted by sheriann
