Thanks for the informative and timely article. Tropical plants within the garden, whether water or land-based, certaionly do "break the rules."

Pictures and links would have been a nice touch to the article...especially for those readers inspired and drawn in to read articles by graphics.

Tropicals are so much in the garden news right now that I'm glad to see your writing again at Suite101.

Hi and thank you! It has been an uphill battle for me the past couple years but I think things are beginning to settle down a bit.

I wish I did have some photos for this one and may have somewhere. I am still not unpacked! I will have lots more articles in the coming months.
