In response to message posted by Jerseycitysteve:

I had a 30 gal community tank set up which I had to dismantle for a move. I would like to set up again but this time avoiding multiple fish and just looking to have 1 or 2 specimin fish. I have a bio-wheel filter and a penguin power head for the gravel filter. Would this be too small a tank for just one oscar plus a bottom feeder (loach?)? If it is too small could someone suggest a suitable specimin fish for a tank this size.

In response to message posted by sneffieann:

are you adding de-chlorinating fluid to your water that you are adding? If you aren't then you should only change about 10% of the water at a time. Also to much chlorine can shock the fish and often times it will die. hope this helps you!

If you want to know just about anything on Oscar's try visiting Cichlids' r' Us its a good site for expierienced fish keepers and newbies. Also does anyone want a 3-foot Koi? My uncle's trying to get rid of one but no1 wants it. It's a grandmaster at last years Koi show 2. It will cost around $5000 US dollars.

i always add the de-chlorinating fluid to my water when changing it. i continue to get feeder goldfish to help clean the tank and i have a 14inch pleco that helps, but to tell you the truth, i really don't remember the last time i actually really cleaned the tank. they are all doing fine and still growing, but i just can't clean the tank. thanks.

"yeah" you can but keep in mind that just because your oscar's a female doesn't mean that a male is gonna get along with your female, if you do keep a close eye on the both of them...don't want anything to happen to them.
