» msrmarcoux - our friend is dying

Zerbik, our 9yr old bala is passing away. I am concerned that he is suffering. He is trying to dig into the bottom of the tank, and injured his fin on a coral piece that we had in there. I got it out of there, but is there anything we can do for him? Our 5yr old is tearful, and we are sad that we don't know more to do for him. Any suggestions?

» Douglas DuHamel - Bala Shark

Hi Rene
I hope you got my e-mail. The best thing you could do is to leave him alone where he is,this is where he feels more at ease.Sometimes fish will surprise you and go on yor awhile.Just make life as easy as possible, and I'm sure he will be thinking of you when he passes! I'm very sorry to hear about your up coming lost.
Thanks Doug

» susikins - upside down bala

Help! I came in to my room tonight and my bala was upside down on a rock. he was still breathing. I moved him with a net and he started swimming again
I just got him Sunday and I have not seen him eat. I even bought bloodworms to see if that would help. Is there anything I can do? I took in a water sample and they said it was okay.

» ilovebala - my bala are dying

HAALPPPPP!!! my two bala fish lost their eyes, due to an off track collision with my sponge bob in the 1.5 gallon fish tank. I netted the eyes out, and put them in a pickle jar (to keep them fresh). What should i do, i cant sleep at nite, my poor little sharkies!!!

Hello respective bala lover.. we are all grieving over your friends, and in that case, our friends suffering. I feel it is necessary to end the suffering of our dear friend. The fin touches on the most sensitive nerves in the bala; our friends' time has come. The easiest way to do this is to simply net him out, and flush him away to his fishy paradise..
May god bless you all

» greywolf_2323 - what happens as Bala Sharks pass away?

I have only had my Bala Shark for a month, but he was so great and I liked that i could set in front of the tank and he would just hang there and watch me. Well today I was changing my 10 gallon tank and so I put my fish in a smaller tank so i could clean it and when I got when back in the tan along with everyone else he was dead.
What happened what did I do wrong. Did he not get enough oxygen or what. I loved him. I also have a Red Tailed Shark too. The person atWall- Mart said they were companion sharks and would not hurt my goldfish, that is why i got them. But he was my favorite. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
