My thoughts on Betta's
They can be a beautiful fish, can't keep males togeather. If one is going to breed then it can really take up a lot of room I've seen one male have up to 700 babies, which all the males end up in the little plastic cups which I believe is very cruel.Plus it takes up a lot of room .But again some of the new species of Betta's are really beautiful.

In response to message posted by desertblue:

Angel fish will do great in a community of their own, or with fish that are faster than they are. Angels tend to be fin nippers and with slower fish, the slower ones always end up with torn fins. Angels really do not need any special treatment and will thrive very nicely on their own. A PH of low sevens and clean water plus a good diet will give them everything they need to live a long and happy life.

» cjosie9 - Bob the Beta

Hi

My husband and I are enchanted with our beautiful Beta, named Bob. Bob is deep red and really has a personality.

HOW? WHAT? A Personality? YES!

Would you believe Bob is an avid T.V. viewer?
He sure is. Bob positions himself atop the branches of his favorite plant and "watches" the motion of the television shows my husband and I are viewing.

Bob also perches on his rock and continues to view the many shows. When i am busy and cannot
join him in his "favorite" show, I mute the volume and he is content to view the activity on the screen.

Bob does swim to the top of the water level from time-to-time for a breath of "fresh air".
Bob is a happy camper, instead of living in a small prison, Bob shares his one gallon, lighted, filtered, temperature controlled tank with four snails.

The two rams are called Buster and Buddy and the other snails are the Barbie Twins.

Hope you have enjoyed this reality world of Bob the Beta.

Thanks

Hi Cjosie9
Its wonderful hearing about the enjoyment that people can have with their fish, and I hope Bob gives you lots more enjoyment but some of my fish seem to like the movie Raw Hide more western style. It seems that fish can see movement, and thats why they react to you when its feeding time.
Thanks Doug

!es. My bettas (Einstein, Mozart and Darwin) know that when I tap the edge of their bowl that it's feeding time. And they do "follow" me all around the room. When I have company over, I carry their tanks to the living room so they can see the action. Otherwise, they just watch me work all day.

You have to show the boys that there's more to life than just work. Give them a treat let them watch the next party you have. That should really lift their spirits.
