Yes, I have to admit to being silent for a spell here at Suite 101.
While I was cruising the Inside Passage along the coast of Alaska it was impossible to post a story. But next month I will tell you about the trip!
I was also preparing for a couple other events and that interrupted my writing schedule:
We just held the 10th annual "Day on the Beach" in Santa Cruz, California. Over 170 people with disabilities surfed, floated, kayaked, rode outrigger canoes, and zoomed around in souped-up, fat-tired, beach wheelchairs. (http://www.dayonthebeach.org) September 22, 2004 I will speak on "Developing Accessible Tourist Destinations" at the 5th NICAN Conference themed "Valuing the Disability Market in Tourism" in Perth, Australia . (http://www.rollingrains.com/archives/000...December 8, 2004 I will lead "Universal Design and the International Travel & Hospitality Industry" as a day-long pre-conference session of "Designing for the 21st Century III" for Adaptive Environments in Rio de Janeiro. (http://www.designfor21st.org/)I am guest editing Travel and Disablity" an academic forum in the Spring 2005 issue of "Review of Disability Studies. (http://www.rollingrains.com/archives/000... I have also done a bit of speaking and assisting travel agents and tour operators on Inclusive Travel. (http://www.rollingrains.com/archives/000... There are plenty of new stories coming out of all this.
It's good to be back and writing at Suite101 again!
