My interview's this Saturday. Unfortunately I've never done sleepaway camp or anything like that, but I'm going on a 10-day trip away from my parents in about two weeks, so do you think I should mention that? I mean, I've done week-long and weekend trips without them and I'm sure I'd be fine with three weeks.

It's not unfortunate at all. You can mention it if you wish. They just want to see that you are ready. Everyone has to start at some point.

You may not be ready now, but on the trip you will be with forty to fifty students your age who are facing the same situation. You will all become one big family by the end of the trip, and you will all comfort each other with whatever problems you have. I've experienced everything, and the friends you make on the trip will last a lifetime.
