» P2PHoper16 - People To People Question

I was also wondering around what time we get up everyday when we get there.and also when is curfew and lights out, normally. Also i was wondering if you have to participate in ALL of the events like i am being asked to go on the Tale Of Two Cities trip and i don't want to go on the London Eye because i am scared of heights.
Also do we ever get to shop forsouveniorss while we are there or are our days too full for that?

» thirth - Re: Thank You

In answer to all of your questions: being in a second group does not mean you wouldn't be with people in your own area. It just means that if there are a lot of people, they will make two groups from the same area.

If you call PTP and request the fundraising book, I can't imagine it would take that long to get it, but I don't know for sure.

Delegation leaders like myself do not have anything to do with the money issues; we are here to support the students. Any money issues would have to be asked of the PTP office.

There are strict rules on the trip that must be followed and accepted by every delegate. We get up very early, ranging from breakfast at 6:30 to 7:30 (you must be at breakfast); it just depends on what the itinerary for the day is. The curfew for elementary school and middle school trips is 10:00, 10:30 lights out. For high school trips it is 10:30, 11:00 lights out. Believe me, you will need and want to sleep to make sure you have the energy for the trip. And you will be expected to follow all of the rules.

We hope that everyone participates in all of the activities. That is the purpose of going on the trips. If there is an issue that cannot be resolved, a leader would stay with that student while waiting for the group to complete the activity. But in the four years I have traveled, everyone has tried all of the activities.

You will have plenty of time to shop for souvenirs.

Hope this helallamavoladorllamavolador, I have not been on the Celtic Discovery trip, but I've heard great things about it.

You should wear something nice but not formal. I would not suggest jeans and a T-shirt, but a skirt and a nice top would be what I would be impressed by! Good luck!

» thirth - Re: Questions

Interviews can last from 20 - 40 minutes, depending on how many students are in the interview. As for recommendations: you should have three sealed recommendations. We are looking for outstanding recommendations from two teachers and one adult that know you very well.
