The IAAF stripped Slaney of the 1,500-meters medal she won in Paris because she failed a drug test three years ago. She later the IAAF and the U.S. Olympic Committee, claiming the test is unreliable for women in their late 30s or 40swho take birth control pills. See the articles on this site at
