Bakshi did not do the animated "Hobbit". That was done by Rankin/Bass, who also did the animated "Return of the King". Was the animated Legolas much like Peter Jackson's Legolas? Well, they were both blonds. That's about all I recall of the animated one. Bakshi's Legolas replaced Glorfindel, whereas Jackson's Arwen replaced Glorfindel. Poor Glorfindel -- he's considered one of the better Elf characters in the book and he keeps getting left out of the movies.
