Yes I do indeed know of el book-o (excuse the cheesy spanglish) to teach you elvish. The Languages of Tolkien's Middle-earth by Ruth S. Noel. Loevely book really. Tells about the elvish languages, runes, the rhovannion languages, the rohirrim languages, the language of hobbits. Lots of good stuff.dictionaries etc. Great begginer guide to elvish. Give it a go.~ i ara undomiel-- posted by undomiel11 » kayamar - Re: Re: Re: LOTR Elvish In response to Re: Re: LOTR Elvish posted by Ilye:
Sindarin is basically the everyday speach of the elves, while Quenya is 'ancient elvish', It's kindof the elvish equivilant of latin. Quenya is mostly found on ancient inscriptions in the books and movies. -- posted by kayamar » Turwaithien - Re: Re: books that will teach me In response to Re: books that will teach me posted by undomiel11:The only problem with that is that the book is as old as my grandma. (I'm young)Its really outdated. I've been learning elvish (Sindarin) from Council of Elrond (the website)and at one point in time I had printed out the workbook thing. I think I still have it around here somewhere... -- posted by Turwaithien » Turwaithien - Re: Re: I can speak elvish In response to Re: I can speak elvish posted by Sisuk_Meehow:You realize that that isn't true elvish (Tolkien elvish that is) Its just some mixed blah stuff. -- posted by Turwaithien » zippy93 - Re: Re: Re: Quenya/Sindarin In response to Re: Re: Quenya/Sindarin posted by mikey37:hi i heard that you would like to learn some elvish and how i got into speaking it well i came to leanring to speak it when i was on a site called habbo hotel and al my riends were into elves and dragons and they spoke the language one told me the site and i got stuck into it and now i basicley speak it all the time i am on it here are a few phrases to get you started... -- posted by zippy93 » snowlock57 - Re: Re: Re: Quenya/Sindarin In response to Re: Re: Re: Quenya/Sindarin posted by zippy93:hey i cann't find out how to say thank you in sindarin. can you help? -- posted by snowlock57 » lizenzed - Re: Re: Re: Quenya/Sindarin In response to Re: Re: Re: Quenya/Sindarin posted by zippy93:hey zippy, could u plz tell us wut the site is for that u learnt elvish? -- posted by lizenzed « Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Next » Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
