Thank you for your wonderfully written article. I remember the times, not too long ago, when I swore that my child would enter college in diapers. While all the other toddlers were eagerly toilet training wearing big kid underwear, mine insisted (vociferously) on wearing pull ups.

We followed the cold-turkey idea of setting a date. When that day came, the pull-ups were "lost" and no replacements were bought. Worked like a charm!

In your very engaging writing style, you have also allowed to let shine through the sage advice I once received to "not stress" over these things and that they would "eventually work themselves out". As parents, we can sometimes be our own worst enemies, especially when someone hands us a calendar or a chart of "milestones".
