» WyndeRiter - Cuddling and Noticing

Every night around 9 or 9:30, my hubby and I will go to bed and cuddle, talk, whatever *weg*. We do this around this time because it gives us a daily reconnection after the kids have gone to bed.

We also discuss things that have bugged us during the day for this time (we give ourselves a 5 to 10min time limit each-- so that peeves don't take over). We have found this is a great way to reconnect with each other in a way that would not have been possible otherwise.

It's funny what happens during these discussions. I've been known to laugh so hard after a dreadful day that I wake up the kids. The warm wave of a renewed love will hit at the oddest moments. For example, my hubby and I were spooning, with me at the back. For some reason he started flexing his muscles, so I started admiring them (touching them, and telling them how manly he looked, etc.) He's not exactly in the best shape, so at first it was kind of funny watching him flex and suck in his beer belly as he strutted around. Then something happened...I noticed something I hadn't seen before...a small dimple right between his shoulder blades. I was stunned by the wave that hit me, it was so uniquely him, his own little dimple.

It's amazing what will happen if you take the time to notice.
