» MsPersephone - Cyber affairs Another well-thought-out article, Mike! Several clients have come to my office and have told me about their cyber affairs. One or two have completely ruined their marriages, and the others have either terminated their online romances or manage to keep them secret. The interesting point here is that the spouses have all noticed these clients distancing from them, and several spouses suspect an affair.-- posted by MsPersephone » MissMouthy - Re: Good point Though maybe you would enjoy hearing from one of those couple who met on the internet. We were both divorced, and chatted quite a while before we met. He drove 5 hours just to have a cup of coffee with me. We were very cautious about our meeting, and let our families know where we would be. It began a wonderful friendship. One year later we were married. I have never been happier in my whole life. Of course, this does not turn out the same in other cases. It is extremely important to just be friendly and learn about each other. It will quickly come out in most cases, if you have ended up with an internet freak. My sister was so upset about me doing this, she refused to meet him for three months. She called him an "internet weirdo" and she knew nothing about him. But, in this case, she was wrong. This is NOT the ideal way to meet someone new. Technology has afforded us some new opportunities to communicate with others. As with anything in this day and age, one must use some caution and wisdom. I am very fortunate.-- posted by MissMouthy
