» rahunter_nf - Our Improved Arrangement
Recently my wife and I adjusted our arrangement, resulting in both of us feeling better about it.We were married just over ten years ago. Less than a year later we had our first child and a year and a half later our second child. Until recently we followed the traditional pattern of my bringing in the money and my wife's doing most of the household tasks.
However, neither of was really happy about the arrangement. Having been a single parent for several years I was used to doing household tasks, and having retired shortly before my wife and I were married I had time to do them. My wife wanted to contribute financially and, especially after the children entered school, to have more to do outside the house.
The solution seemed to be for my wife to get a job but she wasn't able to get one. Finally at the beginning of this year she took a Home Support Worker's program. Since completing it she's gotten enough work that she's been able to contribute financially and that I've been able to take over more of the household tasks.

you two meet and take stock of how the household is working and who is doing what and if things need to change.I have been married over 40 years and I have never had a conversation about this with my husband! We have just worked this out along the way and are both happy with how things are.
