I read that Captain J. Walker, was in Pensacola, Florida in 1844 and had a short stay in Alabama. While in the midst of conducting research on my "Walker" Family tree, I have hit a brick wall. Between 1840 and 1850 my great, great grandfather was born in the Creek Nation in Escambia County, Alabama. However, no other information has ever been gathered as to whom his father and mother were. My great, great grandfather's name is Jay C. Walker who alas grew up in the Creek nation and married the Indian princess Treacy McGhee. Just out of curiosity, I am wondering, even though you state that Captain J. Walker had family in Mass., the possibility of this man being the father of my great, great grandfather is to me very inquisitive information. The time period of his presence, the name and of course the remote possibility is somewhat intriguing. If you have any information on the journey into Alabama, please forward it to me @ jeffsrv393@hotmail.com.

Thanks,
J. Walker
