» tracleemc - email for school children I am a computer teacher of 11 & 12 year olds in Sydney, Australia. I am wanting to set up email accounts for the 120 children I teach & would like your opinion on the type to set up for them. I have looked at Yahoo in Aus. though they need to be 18, hotmail they can use as there is no personal information asked for. I also read the article on AOL for kids, & thought that this could be quite good because of the restrictions.Could you please help me??? Regards Tracey -- posted by tracleemc » Willow4 - Re: email for school children In response to message posted by tracleemc:Hi Tracey. My first piece of advice is to avoid the Hotmail if you can. I've heard from a few parents who have complained about the amount of "adult only" email that there child got through a Hotmail account. It can happen on AOL too, but the parental settings make AOL a great choice. We also have an MSN account which has been an extreme pain in getting set up for the kids. 120 children - wow! that's a lot of kids LOL. Seriously though I would recommend that you contact AOL directly and ask them how they would or could help you. Try AOL at 1-888-265-8003 or 1-800-827-6364. I'm not sure if those numbers will work outside the States. If they don't work for you please let me know and I will do my best to see if I can find a number that will work for you. I know that each AOL account is allowed 7 screen names per account, but those are personal accounts. I would think that AOL can set up some type of arrangement. Please keep me updated. If I can be of any more assistance just let me know. Thanks for dropping by, -- posted by Willow4
