» Gay_Klok - Re: Re: peacocks was: your beautiful garden In response to message posted by Marge_Talt:Peacocks first: Yes, they wonder all over the place, Marge, probably even further than our 137 acres! Especially at the moment because the hens are sitting. I saw the first chicks today, a blue hen had bought her four offsprings to the cottage garden. Probably, by next weekend, the wedge tail eagles babies will have full stomachs! I feel a pang of sorrow at first but we do not need any more peafowl, as the count is somewhere between 30 and 40 I think that the white are albino but the blue and the green are different, the blue originating in India and the green in [I think] New Guinea - I stand to be corrected on these statements! You are quite right on the hens apparent lack of interest. In all these years, I have only observed one actual happening. But then, I have seen the cocks whirring their feathers and shivering and shaking to the car, me, the chooks, the ducks and now the doves! They just like doing their dance. But there is a different call the cock makes when he has had his way and I often hear this! -- posted by Gay_Klok
