In response to message posted by ckingkeys:I am so excited to see your topic. I took a storytelling class in college, and since, have enjoyed telling stories first to my own children, and now to the children I teach at church. As a homeschooler, I often encourage parents to learn the art of storytelling. What better way to teach history, literature...even science?

» pamela_saint - Stories
Hi Chris,When I was younger, I always wanted to be an actor. Then I got hooked on writing and decided to hide behind the pen (or the keyboard). Storytelling requires you to do both, doesn't it? Even if that acting is simply a facial expression.
I'm looking forward to future articles. Welcome!

In response to message posted by pamela_saint:Pamela,
Thanks for writing. There are so many ways to tell stories and you have touched on one of the subjects that is discussed often. Traditionalists believe that the storyteller is the conduit for the story, whereas, there are others who belive that the teller is a performer. The difference between acting and storytelling, however, is that the teller interacts with the audience (there is no wall). I will address this difference in upcoming articles. (there are many storytellers who have an acting background, which helps).
Chris
