» FernWithy - Parent/child similarities

"Luke looks more like Anakin, but has a temperament that's closer to Padme's. He does have a temper, but it's not nearly as quick as Leia's/Anakin's."

I actually disagree with the analysis of the looks of the twins.

Yes, Luke superficially has Anakin's coloring, but on various other sites, I work with images. If you go to gray scale, you can take half of Mark Hamill's face and half of Natalie Portman's face and blend them, and you can barely find the seam--their facial structure is more similar, and there is a certain similarity in their eyes, though I can't put my finger on what it is. And their respective roles vis-a-vis Anakin are the same... they both serve as angels to him, messengers and harbingers of change in his life, and the protectors and defenders of his soul.

As to Leia, I think that there was some similarity between Carrie Fisher's face and Jake Lloyd's in the roundness of features. She also has the much paler skin of the blondes. Hayden Christensen is the only one who doesn't look much like anyone, though he does such a fabulous job of mimicking Mark Hamill's expressions in many places that you come out thinking that they look alike until you look at pictures side by side. Definitely, Leia and Anakin/Vader have more in common in their personalities, just as Luke and Amidala do.

So... is "Amidala" a true emanation of Padme, or is it just a fake name? (I was very disappointed that she's fallen back into Padme, personally.)

So... does anyone think it's accidental that Shmi was crucified and her death scene was a pieta? And what does it mean that the roles were reversed here?
