» NYCScribe - Age limit for entry into NBA The NBA is considering setting a minimum age (20) for players entering the NBA. If such a rule is soon established, Lebron James will be among the last of the high school phenoms to skip college and head straight to the pros. On the one hand, it's good business sense for the NBA to make certain that its employees have reached a certain level of maturity before donning a uniform. I'm sure David Stern & co. believe that imposing an age limit will help to remove the thug image exuded by many players who turn pro while still in their teens and deeply immersed in a hip hop lifestyle. On the other hand, if a kid has what it takes both physically and emotionally to handle the rigors of the NBA on and off court, why postpone the inevitable? What do you think?P.S. - I was amused to see a young man in South Beach this past weekend wearing a Lebron James jersey. Someone out there is actually mass producing the uniform of a high school player. Yet another wacky sign of these crazy times we live in. -- posted by NYCScribe
