Originally the Tuatha De Danann invaded Ireland and many were in Scotland also. They became known as people of the Sidhe (mounds) which is not entirely correct since Sidhe points rather to the black fairies who inhabited the Hebrides and not to the Tuatha. Of course, as you see in my screen name Dubh Sidhe was chosen by me because of my ancestors in the Hebrides and Dubh Sidhe is a contraction for our very long Scottish name. Actually, the Tuatha were quite evil and dasterly little people and did not belong to us. The Tuatha are still in Ireland and Scotland. -- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » Dubh_Sidhe - Tuatha Fiona, here is my article about the Tuathahttp://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/folk... and another one on the Sidhe -- posted by Dubh_Sidhe » zodiacdeb - String theory Fiona,Have you read Lynne McTaggart's book The Field: The Quest for the Secret Force of the Universe? I think you'd find it very interesting. She's a journalist who interviewed scientists across the globe who have been studying the Zero Point Field for many years and have proven that the space most of us call nothingness, and most scientists calculate out of their equations, actually teems with energy, pure potentiality. Every molecule has a frequency, and the wavelength of that frequency contains loads of information, which multiplies every time wavelengths coincide. The implications of these studies are tremendous. Are you familiar with what I'm talking about? And I love that slip... suit/suite! -- posted by eibhlin » eibhlin - Re: String theory In response to String theory posted by zodiacdeb:Oooh, thanks, Deb! I'm not familiar with that, but this gives me new directions to research. I really do need more hours in the day, for these concepts. I'm going to see if our library has that book. I'm familiar with other things McTaggart has written, and this sounds fabulous! Thanks again! -- posted by eibhlin » eibhlin - Re: what's a miracle anyway... In response to what's a miracle anyway... posted by plox:Exactly! Can you imagine how someone from the 18th century would gasp if they saw us flip a light switch and the room was filled with light? Or, how they'd laugh at the idea of a tiny ibuprofen capsule eliminating the pain of a sprained ankle? There are many things that people scoff at today, that will be explained in the future by string theory or something similar. -- posted by eibhlin » RichardSpeaks - Re: Re: what's a miracle anyway... In response to eibhlinIt has been said that if all of the empty space between my individual atoms was removed and the atoms compressed down to their tightest possiblity, what would be left of me could hardly be observed under an electron microscope. Does that make me energetically insignificant? How can my consciousness inhabit such a small amount of energy? Is it actually an indictment against my even being in existence at all? If so, where? How would string theory address such a possibility? -- posted by RichardSpeaks « Previous 1 2 Next » Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
