Are there documented incidents of shamans shapeshifting while going on a flight? Or of shamans ascending to the heavens or descending into the underworld? Or are such stories anecdotal?

I'd like to hear more about this subject as well.
I don't think a bystander would see anything happening. Descriptions of "interior reality" are anecdotal by nature, I think.
