I can say...how right you are. I've been there and done that.Even with twin soul mates though it does not always mean you will be together thru this particular life.
I have been married 4 times, and I'm aware of the past life connections with each one. I have also met up with my twin soul mate in this life. We dated for a short time, but had our own separate life experiences to take care of. We did have a lot in common, and even the same number of kids. He was 10 years younger than I, and more than I could handle. Once I became aware of who he was really, it was too much like dating myself...lol but we developed a close bond to help each through a crisis. We had many past lives as twin brother and sister, plus other combinations. I have lost track of him now, and would like to contact him again to see how he is doing. He's the only person who really understands me, and a great friend and ally.
I have been dealing with 3 past lives in this life, and it has been difficult to say the least. But a lot of karma has been dealt with, and is now behind me, so I can move onward. So it has been a good life from that perspective.
Thank you for the article.

In response to message posted by knightcat50:Hi knight cat,
Thank you for the encouragement. i too have had a karmic relationship, which is the only one that I am aware of. It went from a boyfriend/girlfriend to close friendship which has strengthened through the years. When it came time to end the relationship I remember a dream where I had a conversation with him where he said that we would always be in each others lives. It has proven true to this day.
thank you for sharing.
sincerely,
Denise

Hi Denise,Enjoyed your point of view on this subject--on which everyone seems to have an opinion!
Have you read "Soul Mates" by Thomas Moore?
My topic, Care of the Soul, touches on much of your subject matter as well.
Anyway, I subscribed and hope to keep up with your writing. Seems as if you have a very, beautiful job, Denise. You must be a wonderful inspiration to them!
Take care,
Tom Martin

Years ago, when I first started channeling spirit guides, the concept of soul mates was one of the first things about which I asked. I was intrigued by the "three types" of soul mate mentioned in the initial essay here, as this is different from the way my guides expressed it, but carries some of the same ideas. My guides spoke of soul groups, rather than individuals, and suggested we visualize concentric circles, with the smallest circle in the center, representing the one or two person(s) to whom we felt the strongest connection. I believe these closest spirits are as what most people refer to as "soul mates." The next larger circle represents people we meet with whom we have karmic connections and thus have specific evolutionary tasks or steps to complete in a lifetime. The next larger circle is the cosmic family/tribe/group with whom we generally travel from life to life. And so on.
Over the years, we have re-visited the topic with my guides and with the spirit guides of people who come to me for channeling. The idea has been explained in several ways, with the core information being very consistent.
A couple of things I have always found very interesting about what my guides have said: First, there is a fairly common assumption that one's "soul mate" is one's romantic partner or life mate, i.e. that the soul mate is the ideal marriage partner. According to my guides, soul mates very rarely make good marriages because they are too much alike and conflicts manifest in the marriage that have nothing to do with the coupling itself but with unrecognized karmic concerns.
On the other hand, fully conscious soul mates are the best "best friends," because they recognize their own fears and patterns in their friend and can push each other faster on their evolutionary paths. My best friend and I have been together for almost 40 years, doing spiritual work together for about 30 of those years. We have identical past life memories of our two most recent incarnations together and have visited the place where we lived in our last lifetime together before this one. This was a profoundly life-changing experience.
Second, according to my guides, souls generally travel in very close groups of three or four, occasionally as many as six, who almost always reincarnate in roughly the same time spans. Few of us actually meet all of our soul group, but if we do it can be a very powerful experience. I have met three of the other four people in my primary soul group, and the spiritual connection between us is a literal, physical energy that is magnified hundreds of times when we are in the same room together.
These reflections are based on my personal experiences and knowledge, and are not meant to refute anyone else's experiences. Each of us perceives the metaphysical in terms we can comprehend, and we respond to such information in ways we feel are true and safe for us.

In response to message posted by leitwrtr:I have found the idea of soul mates to be one that best describes individuals that we have had much life experience with (from life to life, but not necessarily consecutively). These can manifest as family members, lovers, or even random people we see in our day to day lives.
I believe there are many different "layers" or connections that one can have with soul mates. Some connections seem to pertain more to life patterning, others focus more on the mental body...there are as many types of relationships as there are people (and them some). You can have a soul mate as a romantic partner in one life, and then not in another. There is no "limit" to how we can experience ourselves..
Twin flames pertain more to two individuals that have chosen to pattern their soul design into a unison. This would indeed give the feeling and experience of a "twin". So, while there is a sense of oness between the two (which is actually experienced as one), there is still the separate identity of each one.
Why Twins exist I am still learning about..:-)
But karma and karmic relationships can involve soul mates or not.
Karma is not a bad or good qualification, it is just a guidelines that keeps everything one(for lack of a better description).
It is possible to have good karmic relationships also..so this does not mean that "karmic relationships" must be "transcended" or rid of, rather all relationships can be experienced in the present, knowing that all relationships shall pass and yet continue..
Just a thought...

Denise, I loved the article about soul mates. I believe in them. It's like going back to Plato and the parts are looking for their other half, their soul mate. I was in a hospital for intensive physical therapy and met one of the employees, not a therapist. There he was. He has the gentlest soul and spirit. My other half. We believe in so many of the same things, think the same things at the same time, even finish each others sentences. He is truly my other half. I believe in past lives, he doesn't. I forwarded him your article. I know he'll read it and hopefully the posts. Thank you for writing on such an important topic that more individuals need to read and digest. Denisee, keep going. You are great.Cessaa-- posted by cessa
