» BetsyTD - Phonological Disorder and Singing
My son is 4 years olds and diagnosed with Phonological Disorder last year. At three, he went to a special preschool for phonological disorder children, exceeded the program and is now is speech therapy with a wonderful therapist 2 times a week. My question is I noticed that he still has difficulty with singing and rhyming. He never has had the capability to sing along with a song or to repeat simple nursery rhymes. Is this part of his disorder and will this effect his reading later on? While his articulation is improving, these two aspects still are a concern. He is approaching 4 1/2 and most of the other preschoolers in his class are rhyming and singing. Just wondering...-- posted by BetsyTD

Due to my personal interest in apraxia, I would like to focus on cognition and the development of speech for apraxic children.
