I thought this would be a good place for us to discuss our favorite telenovelas. As for me, my all time favorite is Maria la del Barrio. I like all of the novelas that Univision offers now, but my favorite is La Usurpadora.

» rkhen - Telenovelas..

Well, Twila, I don't get Uni any more since I moved to Canada, but I used to like El premio mayor, because it was so stupid. I find it comforting that people in other countries also watch worthless TV shows. But more than that, EPM was so bad, it was good. I was honestly sorry to see it go.

On a less ironic note, I enjoyed Maria Mercedes, forerunner of Maria la del barrio which I also liked. I think my favourite telenovela of all was Esmeralda.

I miss the telitas, and also the football games and Al derreche y al Derbez, which was one of the funniest shows on the air in any language.

Thanks for the opportunity to stroll down la calle de los recuerdos ;))))

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I never got to see El Premio Mayor. But I can guess what it was like from the clips that are shown with no end and the sequel "Salud Dinero y Amor". I also liked Esmeralda, but I missed a large chunck of it when we were travelingsad I don't think I missed a single episode of Maria la del Barrio smile

» leni - Watching telenovelas or gran historias on Univision

I am hoping to find another person to discuss current soap operas on Univision. Since I live in the midwest and am a bit of an insomniac, I watch both the 12M CST and the 1:00AM CST stories. I do not speak Spanish but I am slowly learning by watching and using a dictionary.

The current historias are Marimar and Morelia.
I loved "Marisol" and "Pobre Nina Rica" but I do miss some of the story line because of my limited knowledge of the language. Is there anyone out there who would like to help? I have a million questions and a fascination for Spanish.

Por favor, ayudame. Gracias.

It's good to know you also love watching the 'Telenovelas'. I am a great fun also. At the moment 'Maria de los angeles' is being aired in my country. I was thinking you can give me some insight into what the story is all about. If you have any info on it I would be pleased to read it.
