» LadyKelien - Brownie Recipie and Fudge

I love that brownie recipie. Ive been making it several times a year since I was 11 or 12. I still have the cookbook we got it from. But, the cover is gone as are any title pages so I dont know what it was called.

Ok you wanted my fudge recipie

1 large can evaporated milk
4 cups sugar

18 ozs Chocolate Chips
1/2 lb marshmellows
2 cups chopped nuts
1 cup butter

In large bowl mix together everything but evaperated milk and sugar.

In large sauce pan mix together milk and sugar. Cook this on medium heat until it boils.

Continue the boiling process for 12 minutes why stiring constantly. After the 12 minutes (you can do the soft ball test if you like) add the ingrediants in the big bowl you mixed together earlier. stir until melted together well.

Pour into a well buttered 13x9 inch pan. Refridgerate for 24 hours makes approximatly 5 lbs of fudge.

I couldnt find the recipie book. Nobody seems to have struck again carrying it off some place. But, I got it out of one of those Home Ec Teacher's recipie anthologyies. By its age I would say it was published in the late 70's early 80's

EEK! I thought I had created my own brownie recipe! LOL I never find recipes that I don't change, and most of the time I adapt several different recipes into one... that's how I came up with this one... or thought I came up with it smile Reckon there's only so many ways to throw together chocolate, flour and eggs, eh? hahaha

Thanks for the fudge recipe! I'm going to try it this weekend, and I'll let ya know if I get it to set smile

"Nobody" strikes at your house, too! That guy sure gets around! smile

Thanks for visiting! smile

Love & Hugs,
Dar

I sorry I burst your bubble. The good news is you recreated one of the best brownie recipies on the market today. And I think the cook book is now out of print. But, it is definatly well worth making either way.

hahaha It's too funny! I must've psychically tapped into the cook's collective smile They are great brownies though. Mine were a little too thick the first time, and I poured just a little coffee into the batter... good stuff! These would make a good bottom to Mississippie Mud Pie, too! Oohhhhh now I'm munchy!!

Love & Hugs,
Dar
