Roxianne,

You've done a wonderful job of helping me, and any reader, to understand just how to go about relaxing and allowing the mind to be free of other thoughts/concerns so that I can get in touch with my child-self.

Thank you for writing this in such a useful and uplifting manner.

Glad you liked the article, Deb. I used to use this method when teaching memoir-writing, and it worked well for my students. It was a bit harder to explain in the context of an article, though -- this is definitely an experiential process.

but guess I didn't.

This is a wonderful method to get inside ourselves and "remember" what life was like at an earlier time, Roxianne. This is a good way for a writer to just plain relax, too, so words will flow more freely.
