» RoxianneM - Re: Oil painting

In response to Oil painting posted by biogardener:

Thanks for your suggestions for painting. What great ideas! I, too, have been disappointed with the "water-soluble" oils, but never thought of using vegetable oils. As a massage therapist, I always have almond oil on hand, and this would be a good way to use it after it's too old.

I like painting wet-on-wet, too, but haven't tried your method for acrylics. Maybe I'll have to go get some fresh medium and give it a try. Certainly quicker to complete and dry than acrylics.

Right now, I'm working on a series of dragons: Earth, Air, Fire, Water. So far, I've finished Earth and Air, and I'd begun Fire before my sun porch got too cold. You've given me hope for finishing these before my inspiration wanes.

» biogardener - Nothing to forgive

There's nothing to forgive. I just pointed it out to make communication a bit easier. When talking to people, I like to be able to have some image of who they are. I always click on people's names in discussions to read their profiles, and I took for granted that everyone does that. Unfortunately, most people's profile pages are totally blank, and I find it difficult to know what to say to them. I am glad that you tell us a little bit about yourself, Michael.

BTW, you might want to have a look at your own profile to update it.

» biogardener - Community totem

We made a community mosaic sculpture this summer which is similar to a community totem. Many of the participants made their favorite animal. With me it was a choice between an owl and a fish, both of which I have in the totem picture which I posted above. I posted an article about the project in my Young at Art topic. The sculpture is really beautiful, especially when he sun shines on it. Have a look:

» Ragnarok - Re: animal spirit

Lynn, the grizzly bear may very well be your spirit. Myself I started with dreams of Tigers. The Tiger was eventually revealed as my spirit. The only way to find out for sure is to make contact with Grizzly Bear. This is accomplished through meditation and I would be more than willing to help you. I have helped others to not only discover their spirits but to also understand their spirits. Please drop me line.

» spiritalk - As guides and guardians

Species differences and communication make it imperative we think in terms of same species. Animals show us ways to live with nature. We can and do expand and enjoy these lessons.

God bless, J
