Paula,This article is terrific. I watched Roots when it first came out as a TV mini series, but didn't know that it was shown again. I would have watched it had I known.
You raise some interesting questions in your article. You also have shared some of your deepest feelings. I can't imagine how you must have felt seeing such a horrific image at the age of 7; the age of my grandson now.
As a child I was raised to respect all races and treat each person as an individual. I'm thankful to my parents for that.
Canada has not had the racial unrest that the US has. I am very interested in Black history and have submitted several articles to the event. Thank you for sharing this particular article.

Hi Paula,I really enjoyed your article. I only found your topic today, while browsing the suite. You made some very valid points about watching the movie. I try and watch it every time it came on. Though I admit, I had said I wouldn't watch it again, I couldn't stay away from it.
It is good for us to be reminded that obstacles can be overcome! Good Job!
