Welcome Kent!

I was excited to see your topic and glad to see you are up and running!

Much luck and I'll be looking forward to your articles.
I learned alot from your article about agreements, I never even knew there was one, but i do agree that it is needed to protect your work.

Great article Kent. I have a few of my own song lyrics somewhere in the attic collecting dust. I intend to check out the links you've listed and possibly get busy writing a few new lyrics. What's your scoop on the various songwriter's guilds?

I am a member of NSAI, and am generally pleased with it. However, I do find their song critiques, which are probably the biggest benefit they offer, to be a mixed bag. Some of the writers seem to go out of their way to tell you how bad a song is. Some are more middle of the road. All in all, I listen to what they have to say, but I don't base my opinion of a song's worth, mine or others, based on the critiques.

The best interaction I have with other writers is via the internet, either in news groups or message boards. There are a lot of talented people out there and I find most are willing to help other writers as much as they can.
