Sadly, in Tennessee, corporal punishment is still allowed in the schools. Sadder still, many parents endorse this form of brutality.

I have often wondered if beating kids, leads to a weakening of other means of punishment. If a child gets a "whopping" or a "beat down", as they say here, will they ever again respond to a time out, or other less violent form of discipline?

Any thoughts on this??
