» MartinC_3 - Wee Ronnie Returns Wee Ronnie and the lads had a highly successful trip to Las Vegas, and we even managed to get in some soccer too! Our record was a win, a tie and two losses, due in large part to a) playing on hard packed desert with grass that would do Goliath's armpits proud and b) the propensity of Las Vegas barmen to over serve their customers - that and playing the first game at 7:30 a.m having checked in to the hotel at 2:00 a.m. ......Over fifty teams from around North America played, including the ancient and venerable Richmond Islanders (who did quite well). I can't speak for the other teams, but we eventually got back with all our members intact, and our players too. Now we need to think how we can lure unsuspecting Californian and Mexican teams up here to play in our conditions - a frigid morning, a muddy pitch, and driving rain!
