Your article touched a few nerves.

I think kids can tell us a lot about how they see the world we live in. It's just that competition seems to put up a lot of barriers for them.

If we did not have to compete we would be better people, and if our education emphasised co-operation with all kinds of different people, then we would be more committed to what we do and say with everyone.

I'm sure there's something in the best of both worlds for different types of kids-and that they should go with what they and their parents enjoy. Perhaps your kid enjoys video games, while his brother might like to go for a walk. What playgroups do is get people together so that they can all make friends.
