» bbleigh - Returned Mail Sandy,I feel so bad for you. We knew this was coming, that's one reason I started the "Support Your Troops" event as a way of giving people who wanted to help an alternative method. Because of the Anthrax scare, one of the greatest things during deployments was also taken away. No longer can honest caring Americans send care packages to servicemembers. It is a sad shame that the military mail had to be shut down in order to help protect our troops. Even the Red Cross removed links from their website for military mail addresses. There are many ideas listed on the event to let people know how to show their support during this very different type of conflict. I know what you mean about the black cloud days though. It seems like when it rains it pours, I'm with you. This is the first year in ten years that we are close to home for the holidays so I decided to invite my in-laws over for Thanksgiving. The night before my husband gets notified that he has to pull 24hr duty and wouldn't even be home. They had a five hour drive up to my house and called me when left home. We just moved in here and most of our stuff was still in boxes so the kids and I spent three days like mad people trying to get pictures hung and furniture setup. About 20 minutes before they were to walk in the door my youngest son overflowed the bathtub upstairs...the water came pouring down through a vent and flooded my downstairs guest bathroom. A good friend of mine committed suicide two weeks before. And then I spent 4 days up at the hospital with severe stomach pains. They thought it was my gall blader, then it wasn't, it was an ulcer. So I cooked an entire Thansgiving Meal for an army and couldn't eat a bite. -- posted by bbleigh » SandyMcC - Re: Returned Mail In response to message posted by bbleigh:Oh, Wendy! My goodness, now I don't think my cloud is as dark... wow, I hope that ulcer heals soon. Papaya juice... that's the ticket. I actually think it's a little humorous now, the medicine bag deal. I certainly understand why it happened, and it just went along with everything else, it seemed. Thanks for your kind response, and I really hope things look up for you soon. Take care of that stomach! -- posted by SandyMcC » bbleigh - Re: Re: Returned Mail In response to message posted by SandyMcC:Hi Sandy, Thanks for the tips, I never heard of using papaya juice I'll give it a try. You know what they say, every cloud has a silver lining, lol, I guess sometimes it just appears to be more black thena silver huh. Have a great day! Wendy -- posted by bbleigh » Red - rotten luck... Sandy,Before I tell you the run of rotten luck I've been having, I want you to know that I think you did a great thing by sending those beaded bags to the US Marines. Sorry that the troops couldn't have them. Seems like we're both having our run of bad luck lately. Of course you knew that Dwight has been off work for almost 2 years. Well, I thought things couldn't get any worse after the bypass when this fall, the tragedy occured in the US. After that, it seemed that bad luck was everywhere. $970 for a plumbing problem, $400 for a used computer tower that doesn't include Word or a photo program to do the work I need to do both on my topic and the Travel Center. After that a $317 brake job for the car and now today, we deposited all our money in the bank to find out our bank card would not work. The groceries we intended to buy are still at the store. All I can say is, it has to get better. As Charlotte told Wilbur in "Charlotte's Web," "Chin up." Keep in touch and I hope things get better. -- posted by Red
