» SandyMcC - Thanks, Renie!

Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm so happy to be on board! The Ozarks ~ I did a feature travel article for a magazine once, on going to the Ozarks for vacation. I sure would like to be there now, as I wake up on April 30th to find snow on the ground again! Oh, I can't wait for Spring to officially show up!

I look forward to reading and writing more on this site. Hope to 'see' you again soon!
Good journeys,
*Sandy

» jerrib - Wow!

You took my breath away describing the Orcas and the bear incident. Now I'll have to read your bio to see what Renie was talking about.

Great to have you on board! Have a great time here.

Hi Jerri, thanks for taking a look! My page counter is crazy and I thought hundreds of people were looking at my Welcome Page before I'd gotten it done! Now I can settle back and cruise through my new 'hood, so I'll be by yours soon. Nice to meetcha! smile

» Dubh_Sidhe - Hi there Sandy!

I had to look at the cruise to Ketchikan first and I must tell you, that when I graduated from Columbia Hospital School of Nursing, the Public Health Service was trying to recruit registered nurses to go to Ketchikan. I got as far as the bug screen for my car and backed down. This was way back in 1956! Well, I never got to Ketchikan, so I have never been to Alaska.

What magnificent scenery it must have. Welcome aboard and looking forward to your articles. Great first one, by the way. Thanks for stopping by "Folklore".

Hi, thanks for the compliments! Yes, Ketchikan is always looking for more good nurses and teachers! But then nobody wants to pay them what they're worth.... geez... ;) I hope I can 'show' you what you missed out on. I think everyone should come to Alaska at least once in their lives, but most of those who do, come back every year! Me, I just moved on up...

Loved reading your topic, btw~

» MsPersephone - Christmas gift exchange

Hi, Sandy -
I've just read your first article, and now I'm hooked! I loved reading about your close encounters with the native Animals of Alaska. So, I'm offering you this Christmas gift of "resurrecting your first article and putting it at the top of your discussion list. And . . . I'm subscribing to your topic.

Happy Holidays!

» Red - awesome...

Sandy,

How in the world did I miss this one. I noticed Renie said, "Welcome to the Suite," so am assuming this was your first article. I must take some time to sift through some of the articles you published when you first came to the Suite. This is an awesome article. You know I always enjoy visiting your topic.

Take care, my friend. Merry Christmas. May all of your holiday dreams come true.

» victoriap - Writing

In spending the past 8 hours reading through Sandy's article's I'm quite impressed. Never having been to Alaska I now feel like at least I might have dreamt about it once or twice. Her writing is so descriptive that I feel like I'm standing in her shoe's not reading it from 1,500 miles away.

Oh, what a wonderful compliment to any writer - you spent 8 hours reading my work! smile That impresses ME!

I'm so glad you came to see my work, Victoria. I am disappointed to see you didn't post an email addy in your profile tho' - but, that's your thang and it's okay. Last night I had so many questions I would like to have asked you, I even dreamed about it!

I hope you come by again and again. Maybe some day you'll email me and we can chat or something. Please tell your father I said hello, and get him a webtv or something so we can chat, too. I'm dying to reconnect, if he's not too scared of me. smile The phone is too expensive to do a lot of that.

And, remember - it's always darkest before the dawn, so if you're going to steal your neighbor's newspaper, that's the best time.
