» cswitwer - Those lights...

Bren,

There's one spot north/northwest of Dallas about a half hour-- where, if you're approaching DFW, you've been driving through nothing but darkness for a long time. And then, suddenly, the twinkling on the horizon, and the city becomes nearer and nearer until you are in it. I don't know what highway that's on, I only remember seeing it twice-- but Dallas can look little from the plains...

» THEpiab - Thanks for the post!

I've never seen those lights, but I'm sure it's quite a sight! Hope you liked my essay...that one was difficult to put out there because it is so personal.

Take care of yourself these next few days. Let me know how you're doing.

Of course I liked your post! I guess I'm just getting lazy in my old age & forgot to let ya know. This is, indeed, a personal essay-- you're letting your readers really see what was going on inside you. And I really liked it. There were a few things that made me think, "Oh good, so I'm not the only one who thinks that..."

Best,
chris

» TAMMYLYNN83 - One of your best !!!!!!!!

This one brought back many memories of us driving, no particular place, just driving. We ended up the the smallest towns in Texas. But, that was we were young and silly school girls enjoying life. Oh how I wish we could do all that again.
And your parents neighbor is right we all need to slow down. There are so many things in life that we are too busy to enjoy.
This had to be a hard one to post, I remember those days for you. I was so worried about you. I could tell you were searching for something. But, I think you have found it now and are much happier.
