Aww, Bren. Thanks for mentioning that! I am quite proud of myself, although I'm HORRIBLE at keeping secrets and I should lock myself in the closet until I can get it all arranged...In your email you asked me if I had an article idea for ya: I was going to say gifts and singlehood-- what to buy your date. But you beat me to it. I'll have to think of something else-- I'll be in touch soon!

Hey, how about writing about being single and family-free over the holidays? Some people really dread it and feel lonely (I used to) but now I use the holidays as free time and I get a lot of writing done, and a lot of pampering!! Or sometimes I go to my pretend family's house out in the country. I've been visiting them for 5 or 6 years now on various holidays. I don't know how big an audience an article like that would have, but I know we're out here! People who spend the holidays without a partner or family or whatever. One of the downfalls of being single-- unless you can learn to enjoy it!!

What a fun column! I hate I hate shopping... I have only set foot inside a mall once in the last 4 years.And your column reminded me of all the awful gifts I have gotten.... hideous earings made out of Tabasco sauce bottles, christmas ornaments so ugly that made my tree wilt... My partner and I used to have a contest to see whose family gave the worst gifts and for 3 years in a row, I won. We quit having the contest because it became clear that my family was just "better" at that.
