» cswitwer - Novels Hey, Bren!Another great article, my dear. You know, speaking of novels-- when I get really lonely I try to escape into one, and then I'm faced with all these characters having so damn many people to PLAY with, that I feel even more lonely than I did before I tried to escape. Movies are worse due to gratuitous sex and family drama. Tv. Same. So I was thinking this weekend about writing a novel about somebody who doesn't have a million great friends at her disposal. OH wait-- that's already been done. What's the name of that Tom Hanks movie? Castaway? ;-) Girl, if I can ever get going, do I have a story for you. Think Wally Lamb's narrative voice with John Irving's intricate plots & irreverent humor, mixed with some Oprah club moments, and that's what my novels will look like! I hope! (I'm weak, by the way...will probably be going out to buy yet another two or three novels here in the next few days. Can't help it. V. bad of me to keep indulging! I should write one myself, you know!) Looking forward to your next article. I'll call soon. Worked all weekend and couldn't this time. Take care...Bren -- posted by THEpiab » cswitwer - Re: Re: Novels In response to message posted by THEpiab:Hey Bren. Wow, that last message of mine sure was a downer! Sorry about that! And yeah, I'll totally let you read something when I feel I've got it in a presentable form. You'd be a great "first reader" as they say. Most people have 4 or 5 people who do that-- folks who will say hey, this is great. Or hey, that sucks, or you took me out of the story, or the plot is too fast here, etc. I bet you'd be great at that! Well, I better get back to it. I'm procrastinating... but I've already been writing for an hour, so I'm doing good! Take care, -- posted by cswitwer
