Kerry,I too am a single mom. My son is 6 and my daughter just turned 3. I agree with what you said "The most destructive of these myths predict that children in fatherless homes will end up as delinquents, drop-outs or teen parents. The truth is that in most cases single moms are doing a great job!" I am so sick of the stereo typing! I live with my parents until I get out on my own and they along with my brother and his girlfriend are great positive influences. My brother is so involved with my kids life. I look forward to reading more of your articles.

I'm so glad to see you here! Yes, I'm a single mom too. My daughter is 9 and son is 7 and the last 4 years have been a joyous struggle. Physically, financially and at times emotionally difficult, but I have to say joyous as well, because it has been thrilling to discover that no matter how hard it gets, I can do it! I am subscribing to your topic and will be back often, because no matter how many times you hear "I don't know how you do it," said with admiration and support, there is a part of you that thinks, "I don't know how I do it either."
