» Renie_Burghardt - A Creative Home Peggy, what wonderful suggestions and ideas. I love them, and look forward to more. And guess what? Today, while reading, I found the perfect quote for you:"A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on." Carl Sandburg Congrats, once again Grandma-to-be! All the best, Renie -- posted by Renie_Burghardt » Peggy_Kord - Re: A Creative Home Renie! What a beautiful quote! You have brought joy to me - again! Thank you! My children seemed bored and miserable in our old house, even though they had their own rooms and a play room.(To note: we live in a country where the weather is over 100 degrees almost 7 months out of the year). I was aiming for simplicity so they could focus, and on creativity, so that they could be free to express themselves. What my children and I came up with is a drawing/art/music room. It doesn't have a lot of "stuff" in it. We put all scraps in a box, and bought two used art easels for them to paint and draw on. A couple of plastic tables and chairs and most importantly, a plastic table cover on the floor. It's working brilliantly!!! I urge parents to think again before creating a space for their kids with only toys in it. It's made a big difference in my children's attitude. They spend a lot of time in there and the results are all hung up on the wall! -- posted by shoemaker » Peggy_Kord - Re: Re: Re: A Creative Home What a wonderful and creative idea! The easels will only add to their creative energy, and the plastic cloth on the floor will certainly ease your mind!Moving is such a trauma. You made it easier for your children to express their feelings! Thank you so much for stopping by! You truly are a creative parent! Peggy -- posted by Peggy_Kord
