Hi,

Whilst I have to agree that some of the actions that Clive took in India would be completely unacceptable today I do feel that there is a modern trend in history to try and apply our modern moral code to the past. This will in many cases put the actions of the past in a very bad light. The actions of historical figures must be placed in context before any evaluation can be made.
