» mastiffs2005 - Excellent! Andrea, I'm going to have to get that book! I've heard a lot about Vanzant but haven't read any of her work. We were just recently talking about living life to its fullest over at HA, so I'm going to post a link to this article there. Your article is very well written and it certainly makes you think!I'm glad you're back at Suite! And congrats on your beautiful baby Love & Hugs, -- posted by mastiffs2005 » ravenfairie - Re: Excellent! Anne -- posted by ravenfairie » biogardener - Comment I just want to comment on the opening quotation, "The process for living starts at birth . . ." I don't think that anyone seriously believes that any more, because unborn babies are quite aware of their surroundings, especially of the emotional state of the mother. They feel acceptance as well as rejection, joy as well as sadness, and their personality is being shaped by those experiences.-- posted by biogardener » ravenfairie - Re: Comment In response to message posted by biogardener:I agree with you that unborn babies experience a lot in the womb and that they are shaped be those beginning experiences. The context of the quote, i believe, points out that after birth our personal process of decision making begins. While in the womb a baby cannot make choices for it self, yet once born it can begin to exert its own opinions. Even though a a newborn can't do much for itself yet it can make decisions about what he or she likes/dislikes wants or doesn't want. As a parent I listen and support that in my son, so that he can grow up able to making decisions and choices and therefore live a more conscious life. anne anne -- posted by ravenfairie
