Treating the flu and Pneumonia with HerbsRead the article this discussion is about

» pentimento - Colds and other bodily infestations Anne,I can so relate to the herbal quest to kill a cold. I used my bag of herbal tricks but the cold or flu or whatever it was was stronger... I was sick for the entire month of February. It got really old. Finally I went to see this yogic oriented body worker. She told me the problem with my immune system was due to my digestive system being out of whack, which was probably due to being stressed out of my mind from September through January. She suggested a change in my diet (lots of fibre, not much protein, barley grass or wheat grass juice) digestive enzymes with HCL and Essiac Tea. It was amazing. I haven't been sick since and I can eat more so I'm starting to gain some weight (which is a good thing). I don't know why I felt the need to share that but there you go! regina sewell -- posted by pentimento » ravenfairie - Re: Colds and other bodily infestations Thank you for sharing. I just wrote a thank you over in the menses discussion as well. It really great that you're willing to share and to write down what works for you. like i mentioned in the other discussion sometimes one herb works for one person but then doesn't for another. Having options and knowing about different herbs to try can be very helpful to someone who's sick and lost in the sea of the health food store.Diet can so often be a huge factor in immune problems and other health problems. I've noticed that since i started eating kefir (pro biotic, yogurt type food- see list o links) pretty much everyday, my digestio has improved and so has my over all health. I still think i need a few months on beach Mexico to really make myself feel better, but kefir and herbs will have to do. wheat grass juice, if you can stand the taste is awesome for health! It's mostly chlorophyll, the life blood of plants. did you know that chemically the only differce between chlorophyll and human blood is one mineral? Blood has iron and chlorphyll has magnesium. So it's an excellent blood builder and blood cleanser. And all the active enzymes help digestion. Thanks again for sharing!
