I just bought a pot of these two weeks ago. I planted it in my woodland and then did some checking on it after the fact! All the information i found described it as a 'vigorous spreader' by stolons. That adds up to invasive usually so I dug it up and moved it to somewhere where it can be contained a bit better. In your experience, how invasive is it?

Well, Susan, I sure wouldn't consider it invasive - I only wish!

While this is a bit more vigorous than most of the hardy gingers, that only means you might end up with a nice patch of it during this century...they are really not plants that cover ground fast.

This is such an exceptionally beautiful plant that a large patch of it would be fantastic. Mine have only been in the ground a couple of years, but in that time - in really nice rotted woodchip soil, they have not even filled in the small area they're in.

I wouldn't worry about it - and, if, by some chance, you do end up with more than you want, I'll be very happy to take your excess off your hands:-)
