» biogardener - Poison ivy cure

Barbara Hall of Weeds and Wild Things here at the Suite reports that jewelweed has soothed her poison ivy, especially when combined with plantain, both mashed in a blender. I have a real problem with it, though, and that is its unavailability. It is supposed to be hardy to zone 2, but in 50 years of living in the cold Canadian prairies, roaming the wilds more than anyone I know, I have never come across the plant, yet I have had countless encounters with poison ivy.

Mind you, I don't need a poison ivy soother. I have the only known cure, the one which was passed onto me through a missionary who learned it from the aboriginals of northern Manitoba. It is easy to use. It eliminates the pain instantly and cures the affliction overnight if not sooner. I have written about how I learned about this hightly secret remedy "Guardian of a Sacred Trust." The article contains a link to a page where I describe how to apply the remedy. It is readily available and very easy to use.

Hi Traute,

Well, jewel weed is really a plant of moist woodlands, not prairies, so that may be why you've not found it. Personally, I never found it effective against poison ivy. I use Tecnu before I go out or if I know I've touched poison ivy and have not had a case of it since I discovered Tecnu. Tecnu is the most effective, I daresay the only effective remedy IMO. It's used by linemen and others who come into contact with that vine. Try it, you'll find it works!
