On Saturday, during my hectic schedule, I decided to run down to the park where I first saw the Ipoemia Batatas Margarita (yeah,... I'm learning...) to see if I could get a few more cuttings before they all vanish for the cold weather.

Much to my SORROW, I saw that all the Sweet Potato plants, Margarita, Blackie, and other summer plants were PLOWED AWAY.... I guess to clean up for the winter.

And I felt SO guilty that time about taking cuttings - if I knew that they were going to pull everything OUT, I would have brought hedge clippers with me!

There I was, standing by the Hudson River, a dreary grey day with the weather starting to feel like winter .... and I was blue..

But, instead of getting depressed, I focused instead on the wonderful evergreens and tried to get my mind OFF the plants that were just GONE.

Oh well, looks like I will ordering all that stuff next year from a nursery.I guess I have all winter to see which one is closet to me.

I'm hoping that all those gardeners who work on the Wagner Park took as many cuttings as they could carry.
